ICE-AWAY – De-icing Agent
Insect Control Additive
ICE-AWAY is an alternative de-icing agent to traditional salting
and toxic de-icing chemicals. Using the power of Calcium
Magnesium Acetate (CMA) and mixtures with potassium
formate (CMA+), ICE-AWAY prevents dangerous ice and
unwanted freezing.
Our insect control additive is a non-traditional insecticide
and an e昀昀ective way to reduce insect populations, it provides
rapid insect knockdown against 昀氀ying and crawling insects.
Bene昀椀ts compared to salting
Eco-Friendly with Nordic Swan ecolabel: Unlike traditional rock
salt or harsh chemicals, which can have detrimental e昀昀ects on
the environment it is applied to, ICE-AWAY is a more sustainable
choice. It’s biodegradable and poses no threat to the surrounding
昀氀ora and fauna.
Longevity: ICE-AWAY lasts longer than salt when applied, meaning
fewer applications are needed. ICE-AWAY lasts approximately
60 hours once applied, compared to 8 hours for salting.
No dust from salt particles: Salt can create dust particles
when vehicles are passing. ICE-AWAY does not produce this dust,
it actively settles dust as it has a duo use as a dust-management
additive - ensuring cleaner air quality.
Reduced Corrosion: The corrosive nature of salt can lead to rusting
and degradation of metal surfaces as well as foundations on
buildings. ICE-AWAY is less corrosive, which means less damage
to vehicles, bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure.

How does Insect Control Additive work?
A cellulose formulation, combined with a water-based delivery
system such as misting equipment, the additive works
by encapsulating the insect. It is e昀昀ective on adult insects.
Where can Insect Control Additive be used?
Insect Control Additive is perfect for use for all forms of waste
sites; land昀椀lls, composting, animal housings, hospitals, farming,
food storage, slaughterhouses and anywhere where crawling
and 昀氀ying insects are a problem.
How is Insect Control Additive applied?
Insect Control Additive can be applied using any compatible
Air Spectrum Environmental misting system, such as: Air Spectrum
Rotary Atomiser Mobile, Mini Mister Mobile Fan, Jetstream System
or Skid Unit Jetstream System. Another common method of
application is using a backpack sprayer, either as an atmospheric
space spray, or a direct-to-surface spray. This additive is also
compatible with equipment not manufactured by ASE.

ICE-AWAY is provided as a ready-to-use liquid, and is usually
applied using a spreader plate or misting equipment.
Rapid action allows for e昀昀ective insect control in the environment,
with no known resistance. Insecticide-resistant insect strains
are now commonplace, and having the added bene昀椀t of being
biocide-free means insects will not be resistant to this product,
nor will they build resistance.
